The head of Chechnya called his action correct

GROZNY, September 25. /TASS/. Chechnya head Ramzan Kadyrov has admitted that his son Adam beat up a man, who is being kept in custody on charges of burning a copy of the Quran.

"He beat him up, and he did the right thing. What’s more, I believe that anyone who desecrates any Holy Scripture, including by publicly burning it, and offends tens of millions of citizens of our great country, should be severely punished," he said on Telegram.

The defendant, Nikita Zhuravel, is suspected of the crime of committing actions that are insulting to religious feelings of believers. His case is being investigated by the Russian Investigative Committee’s office in Chechnya, where he is being kept in a detention center. Mansur Soltayev, a rights commissioner in the region, said in August that an investigation was underway into reports that Adam Kadyrov allegedly had beaten up Zhuravel.
