German NGO EU-Russia Civil Society Forum declared undesirable in Russia
The Prosecutor General's Office pointed out that the organization was a network structure uniting about 180 Russian and European NGOs
MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has declared the activities of the German non-governmental organization EU-Russia Civil Society Forum undesirable in Russia.
"The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has made a decision to recognize the activities of the foreign non-governmental organization EU-Russia Civil Society Forum as undesirable in Russia," the PGO’s press service said.
The PGO pointed out that the organization was a network structure uniting about 180 Russian and European NGOs, and "in fact its activities are aimed at establishing interaction between EU structures and Russian NGOs, gathering information on internal processes in Russia and establishing contacts with Russian ‘political emigrants’ with the aim of using them to the detriment of Russia’s interests."
The organization implements programs and projects, prepares reports, publishes articles and studies, and holds conferences and seminars aimed at discrediting the Russian leadership, the PGO said. In addition, the NGO cooperates with persons recognized as foreign agents in Russia, as well as with organizations whose activities were previously recognized as undesirable.
"The activities of this network structure pose a threat to the basis of the constitutional order, territorial integrity and security of the state," the PGO said.
