The top diplomat stressed that the relevant agencies are now tackling specific practical issues

ANKARA, April 7. /TASS/. Moscow will continue to provide assistance to Ankara in the reconstruction of its earthquake-ruined infrastructure, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday.

"People in Russia, as well as in Turkey, say that a friend in need is a friend indeed," he noted. "We continue to assist our Turkish friends in dealing with the aftermath of this natural disaster, including by providing them with construction materials for the restoration of infrastructure, which is what our presidents agreed on, and the relevant agencies are now tackling specific practical issues," Lavrov added.

Russia’s top diplomat used the occasion to express his deepest condolences to the Turkish people over the tragedy, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured and also wishing Turkey success in the restoration of damaged infrastructure and, where necessary, the construction of new facilities. "We will actively help here," Lavrov emphasized.
