DONETSK, April 5. /TASS/. Russian authorities took exhaustive measures to ensure the safety of children, evacuated from Donbass due to the Ukrainian aggression, DPR Ombudsman Darya Morozova said during the informal meeting of the UN Security Council on the issue of children, evacuated from the conflict area.

"I draw your attention to the fact that local authorities and the Russian Federation took exhaustive measures to ensure the security of the people. Moreover, the acted strictly in the interest of children and within legal framework, including that of international humanitarian law," she said, speaking via a video call Wednesday.

Morozova underscored that the decision on evacuation, made by DPR authorities on February 18, 2022, was the only possible amid the escalation. According to the ombudsman, people of Donbass moved primarily to Russia, considering its territorial proximity.

"In addition, it was the Russian Federation who created all necessary conditions to accept the refugees, including social support measures, accommodation and provision of employment opportunities," she said.
