Russia offers condolences to Greece in wake of train collision

MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Moscow expresses its condolences to the people of Greece over a train crash near the city of Larissa that left over 30 people killed, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a comment on Wednesday.
"In these difficult times, we offer our most sincere condolences to the Greek people, primarily to the families who lost those near and dear to them. We wish soonest recovery to those injured," Zakharova said.
The collision between a passenger train and a freight train occurred last night. Earlier, the Hellenic Train railway company reported that there were about 350 people on the passenger train at the time of the accident. According to the ERT-1 TV channel, 270 of them were uninjured and evacuated.
