Russian transport police starts using new craft with drone — official

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Transport police officers have started operating a new craft with a drone and a remotely operated vehicle, head of the Main Department of Transport of the Russian Interior Ministry Oleg Kalinkin told TASS in an interview.
"We have received relatively recently and already started operating a new Alliance-8,5M craft of the Russian make. Representatives of the Main Department of Transport of the Russian Interior Ministry participated in its development. This craft is fitted with a drone and a remotely operated vehicle. It makes possible to quicker explore the water body bottom without resorting to divers’ help if a person gets drowned, a vessel sinks, a suspicious item or poachers’ nets are found," the official said.
New technical aids help officers of the department to monitor the operational situation, Kalinkin noted. Patrolling police officers have video recorders performing continuous video shooting, he noted. "This is help in investigating violations of law and the preventive component," he added.
