Russian servicemen hand 2.7 tons of food to Aleppo quake survivors

According to Oleg Gurinov, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, Russian servicemen continue to take part in the aftermath of the earthquake

MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. Russian service members have distributed almost three tons of food in the quake-ravaged Syrian city of Aleppo and the Aleppo province, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria, said on Wednesday.

"Two humanitarian actions were carried out in the city of Aleppo and in Khalidiya located in the Aleppo province, during which 2.7 tons of food was handed over to the population," he said.

Gurinov added that Russian service members continue efforts to deal with the aftermath of the earthquake, helping to remove the rubble and to recover bodies. Russian military medics continue to provide medical assistance to those injured.
