MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. Alicia Day, an American national detained after walking a calf along Moscow’s Red Square told TASS on Monday that she had no complaints about the conditions of her detention.

"I have no particular complaints. My relations with my cellmates are good," Day told TASS at Moscow’s Troitsky Court, which is considering deporting her from Russia. According to the American woman, she was born in Taiwan, lived in the United States, but speaks Russian at a level that allows her to get by in everyday life.

"I don't work. I get money for purchases from my parents, who are engaged in the purchase and sale of stocks and real estate," Day noted.

The Troitskiy Court of Moscow received a protocol against Day under Part 3 of Article 18.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation by a foreign citizen of the rules of entry or stay in the Russian Federation"). She faces a fine of up to 7,000 rubles ($95) with administrative expulsion from the Russian Federation or without it. As follows from the case announced in court, Day lived in Russia without registration. Earlier, she said that she had arrived in Russia on a tourist visa.

Several days ago, law enforcement officers arrested a woman walking a calf she purchased online and shouting the slogan "Animals are not food" in the capital’s central square where any public events are prohibited. Moscow’s Tverskoy Court imposed a jail term of 13 days and a 20,000-ruble ($286) fine on her for resisting arrest.

The animal rights activist pleaded guilty. According to her, her actions were not politically motivated.

Day also said she kept seven piglets and three calves at her shelter, including the one she was detained with. Last year, the activist resided in Warsaw where she kept a pet lamb, and back in 2019 she rescued a pig in London and kept it in her apartment.
