KAHRAMANMARAS, February 11. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry’s rescue teams, who are grappling with the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkey, have delivered humanitarian aid to remote villages in the mountains of the Kahramanmaras Province, a TASS correspondent reported on Saturday.
A Kamaz truck belonging to the Russian Emergencies Ministry brought about 1.5 tons of relief, including blankets, pillows, warm clothes, food and other necessities to the village of Gucuksu, which inhabitants are of Chechen descent. A part of the aid cargo will be handed to them, and the rest will be distributed among the other affected communities. The aid was provided following the request from Chechen head Ramzan Kadyrov to Russian Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov.
According to local residents, about 110 houses have been razed to the ground in Gucuksu. The damage is not as severe in neighboring villages.
