Russia’s military transport aircraft delivers 20 tons of humanitarian cargo to Syria
It is noted that Russia sent to Syria over 4.5 tons of food products and warm blankets
KHMEIMIM AIR BASE /Syria/, February 10. /TASS/. A military transport aircraft of Russia’s Aerospace Forces delivered more than 20 tons of humanitarian aid to Syria for those affected by an earthquake, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.
"The first plane of military transport aviation of Russia’s Aerospace Forces with Russian humanitarian aid for the country’s residents affected by the earthquake arrived at the Russian Khmeimim air base in the Syrian Arab Republic. The Il-76 VTA plane delivered over 20 tons of humanitarian aid to the Khmeimim airfield," the agency said.
It is noted that Russia sent to Syria over 4.5 tons of food products (canned goods, flour, pasta, sunflower oil, tea, coffee, instant soup) and warm blankets.
The Defense Ministry emphasized that the food and blankets delivered with the assistance of servicemen from the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Opposing Sides in Syria would be immediately distributed to local residents in need.
