MOSCOW, February 1. /TASS/. Moscow police have detained an American woman walking a calf in Red Square, a police spokesman told TASS on Wednesday.
"A woman, walking a calf, was arrested on Red Square on Tuesday," the spokesman said, adding the calf walker was a 34-year old US national.
"According to the detainee, she bought the animal at Avito [the Russian classifieds giant] and took him for a walk," the police spokesman said.
He said the woman was facing a fine, an administrative detention for up to 15 days or social work penalty.
The woman told TASS she wanted to save the animal from slaughter. "I bought it so they wouldn't eat it, later. And I wanted to show him the capital, it's very beautiful," she said.
