Belgorod governor tells story of 7-year-old boy who saved sister during Ukrainian shelling
According to the official, about 2,500 houses and apartments were damaged by Ukrainian shelling attacks on the Belgorod Region. Around 2,000 of them have already been repaired
NOVO-OGARYOVO, January 24. /TASS/. A seven-year-old boy from southwestern Russia’s Belgorod Region rescued his baby sister during a recent Ukrainian shelling attack, the region’s Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov has said.
During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, the official said: "Work is under way to inform our population about safety rules for emergency situations and under shelling. First of all, we are working with children."
"A boy from the settlement of Urazovo <…>, who is seven years old, told me that he was playing computer when a shelling attack began, and his baby sister was playing on the floor nearby. When the shelling began, he ran away, but then returned, recalled what he was earlier taught to do in such cases, took his sister and they took shelter in the bathroom together. In fact, he literally saved his own life, and the life of his little [sister]," the governor said.
According to the official, about 2,500 houses and apartments were damaged by Ukrainian shelling attacks on the Belgorod Region. Around 2,000 of them have already been repaired.
