Volunteer regiment for special military operation forms in Belgorod Region — governor
According to him, currently the regiment consists of seven battalions. "Every week we have classes, training, the instructors are trained," the official added
NOVO-OGARYOVO, January 24. /TASS/. A volunteer regiment for the participation in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine has been formed in the Belgorod Region staffed with those men who had not been drafted, the region’s Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
"There was a large number of inquiries with regards to male residents who could not be mobilized. Like, for example, they participated in several local wars, [have been] wounded, [are older], they know what war is like but they won’t be mobilized anymore. Then we put the word out, wanted to see whether anyone would respond. More than 3,000 people responded. As of today, we practically formed a regiment. Of course, I am just provisionally calling it a regiment," the governor said.
According to him, currently the regiment consists of seven battalions. "Every week we have classes, training, the instructors are trained," the official added.
