MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. The world’s oldest person, French nun Sister Andre (born Lucile Randon) passed away in the early hours on Tuesday at the age of 118, Agence France-Presse reported citing a representative of her retirement home.
According to him, she died in her sleep.
Lucile Randon was born in France on February 11, 1904. She was recognized as the world’s oldest living person on April 26, 2022.
In her youth, she worked as a governess. Randon was baptized at 26 and at 41 she became a nun. She spent 28 years caring for orphans and elderly people at a hospital in Vichy. In 1979, she entered a convent in Savoie. Since 2009, she has been residing in a retirement home in Toulon.
