COVID-19 situation stabilizing in Russia, says sanitary watchdog

Higher than average rates of morbidity in Russia have been observed in 26 regions

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. The situation with COVID-19 is observed to be stabilizing in Russia, and cases of the disease inched up 0.3% over the past week, the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) reported on Tuesday.

"At present, we are observing a stabilization of the COVID-19 epidemic process. A total of 36,361 COVID cases have been recorded. The incidence rate is 24.78 per 100,000 people, which means that the increase was 0.3% compared to last week," the federal agency’s press service said in the message.

According to the watchdog, the increase in morbidity is observed in 38 regions, including St. Petersburg.

Higher than average rates of morbidity in Russia have been observed in 26 regions.
