Russian eSports team Outsiders wins main CS:GO tournament

In the final match, the Outsiders defeated the Danish team Heroic with a score of 2:0.

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. The Russian team Outsiders won the main tournament in the eSports discipline Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). The Intel Extreme Masters Major ended in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. The tournament’s prize fund is $1.25 million.

In the final match, the Outsiders defeated the Danish team Heroic with a score of 2:0. Outsiders will receive $500,000 for winning the tournament, Heroic will receive $170,000.

The Russian teams Cloud9 and Team Spirit dropped out of the tournament at the quarterfinals, earning $45,000 each. Finalist of the previous major Na'Vi from Ukraine also dropped put at the quarterfinals. The winners of the May tournament Faze Clan from the United States failed to reach the playoffs.

The Russian team included Jami Ali (Jame), Evgeny Lebedev (Fl1t), David Danielyan (n0rb3r7), Petr Bolyshev (fame) and Kazakhstani Alexey Golubev (Qikert). Outsiders is the second name of the Virtus.pro team. Most of the Virtus.pro teams in various disciplines had to refuse to show the name and sponsors due to the requirements of the tournament organizers.
