Exhibition of Viktor Bout's works created in American prison to open in Federation Council
Viktor Bout was apprehended in Thailand’s capital of Bangkok in 2008 following a sting by US federal agents
MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. An exhibition of Viktor Bout's artworks created during his years of imprisonment in America will be held in the Federation Council, the press service of Russia’s upper house of parliament reported.
"On November 15, Viktor Bout's artwork will be presented in the Federation Council. The exhibition will include Viktor Bout's pictures which he created during his years of American imprisonment," the press service reported.
The exhibition will be unveiled by Grigory Karasin, head of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Viktor Bout was apprehended in Thailand’s capital of Bangkok in 2008 following a sting by US federal agents. He was charged with conspiracy to deliver weapons to a group regarded as a terrorist organization by the United States. In 2010, Bout was extradited to the United States. In April 2012, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison and issued a $15 million fine.
