MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. A basic military training course will be added to the Russian school curricula as of next academic year, Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov said on Wednesday.
"It will be introduced in schools starting from the next academic year. Now it is being drafted and after January 1, it will begin to be tested," Kravtsov told the media after a meeting with the honorary jury panel of the Znaniye (Knowledge) educational award.
Earlier, the Education Ministry in its reply to a message from the leader of the A Just Russia - For Truth faction in the State Duma, Sergey Mironov (TASS has a copy of the document), said that work was in progress to develop a course for basic military training in schools and colleges within the instruction time reserved for the basics of civil defense (35 hours over five days).
