KHERSON, November 7. /TASS/. The last ship has left the city of Kherson for the left-bank part of the Kherson Region as part of efforts to relocate civilians due to a threat of flooding, the region’s Deputy Governor Kirill Stremousov wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday.

"On November 7, the last ship that could move people to the left bank departed from the city of Kherson, from the right bank of the Kherson region," Stremousov said, adding that residents who wanted to leave afterwards would be able to evacuate individually.

He stressed that authorities would always be willing to help them. Earlier, the administration of the Kherson Region reported on its Telegram channel that it temporarily discontinued traffic across the Dnieper River. The temporary ban applies to river cabs, barges and other vessels. Pontoon crossings have also been suspended. Meanwhile, people may cross the river with their cars using a barge operating in the area of the River Port.

According to Stremousov, the city infrastructure has not been affected, and Kherson does not need essential supplies.

On October 18, Vladimir Saldo, Acting Governor of the Kherson Region, announced that civilians on the right bank of the region would be relocated to the left bank of the Dnieper River due to the threat of flooding that could occur if the Ukrainian military struck the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant. On October 31, Saldo announced the expansion of the evacuation zone by 15 km from the Dnieper along the left-bank part of the region. The expanded evacuation zone included the territories of the Novokakhovsky urban district, Golaya Pristan, Alyoshkin, Kakhovky, Gornostayevky, Velikolepetikhsky, and Verkhnaya Rogachikskaya municipal districts.
