SOCIETY, October 26./TASS/. Opinion polls show that Russian society has once again become united just 10 days after Russian President Vladimir Putin's decree on partial mobilization, Valery Fedorov, the director general of the nation’s leading polling agency, said on Wednesday.
"Literally a real panic began after the decree on partial mobilization, sociological indices show this. However, 10 days passed, just 10 days, and the panic was over. All indications suggest that we have once again united, got together, explained to ourselves, why this is necessary and how to continue to live," the head of the Russian Public Opinion Research Center told an all-Russia research-to-practice conference on social sciences in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.
On September 21, President Vladimir Putin declared a partial mobilization in Russia. Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu clarified that 300,000 reservists would be called up, who would undergo training before being sent to the special military operation zone. The partial mobilization would not involve students and conscripts. Only citizens who have prior combat experience and military specializations needed for the operation would be mobilized. The defense chief emphasized that the call-up is being carried out first and foremost for control over the territories liberated during the special military operation.
