YEKATERINBURG, October 6. /TASS/. Almost 30 children from Russia and Ukraine have rejoined their families through ombudsmen’s efforts, Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova said during a working trip to Yekaterinburg.

"Lots of families were separated by the war. <…> Whenever we locate children in Russia who have their grandparents [in Ukraine], we contribute in every way to having them taken back. On the other hand, the Ukrainian side has been helping us in situations where a child is in Ukraine, while his or her mother, the parents are staying in Donetsk or in Lugansk. So far, we’ve helped 27 children reunite with their families and caretakers," the Russian ombudswoman said.

Back in July, she said that she was working to get more than 10 kids taken back to Western Ukraine to be reunited with their families.

Moskalkova is taking part in events to mark the 25th anniversary of ombudsman services in the Sverdlovsk Region.
