Kazan Global Youth Summit 2022 received 7.6 thousand applications from 130 countries

The program will include a plenary session, panel discussions, interactive seminars, a presentation of a research survey on current challenges young people face

KAZAN, July 22. /TASS/. Some 7.6 thousand applications from 130 countries have been submitted to participate in the Kazan Global Youth Summit, which will be held on August 27-30 under the international program Kazan is the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Youth Capital 2022. This was reported in the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan.

"A total of 7,600 applications from 130 countries were received during the application campaign from Pakistan, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Russia, Sudan, Turkey, UK, USA, Vietnam, Venezuela, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, and others. The results of the selection will be announced within 10 days," the ministry said.

The summit will bring together the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) youth and sport ministers, OIC ambassadors general, leaders of youth organizations, representatives of international organizations dealing with youth policies, opinion leaders, young entrepreneurs and academics. All in all, the summit will bring together around 300 people.

The program will include a plenary session, panel discussions, interactive seminars, a presentation of a research survey on current challenges young people face, a session on forecasting future youth development, as well as a cultural program. The participants will discuss the issues of youth migration, digital trends among young people, promotion of health and well-being, youth entrepreneurship, intercultural dialogue.

The 5th Global Young Diplomats Forum will be held alongside the Kazan Summit. It will be organized by the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Its participants will discuss trends of modern diplomacy, consider prospects and opportunities for cooperation at a global level in digital, cultural, climate and other spheres.

The decision to grant Kazan the status of the OIC Youth Capital 2022 was made in November 2021. This is the first time the status is granted to a Russian city, located in an OIS observer country. A total of 10 international youth events are planned to take place in the framework of the program.
