Turkmen president thanks Putin for Russia’s supplies of coronavirus vaccines

MOSCOW, June 10./TASS/. Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for a quick response to the request to send coronavirus vaccines to Turkmenistan.
"In the battle against the coronavirus pandemic, Turkmenistan and Russia provided an excellent example of solidarity. We are grateful to the Russian leadership for their prompt response to our request to supply vaccines, medicines and medical supplies and support for the citizens of Turkmenistan who found themselves on the Russian territory at that difficult time," the president told a news conference following the talks at the Kremlin.
Last July, the Turkmen Ministry of Health announced the start of compulsory immunization against coronavirus for all Turkmen citizens over 18 years of age. The Russian vaccines Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona, as well as the Chinese CoronaVac are used for immunization. Turkmenistan was among the first to register Russian vaccines.
