More than 1.55 mln refugees arrive in Russia from DPR, LPR and Ukraine, source says
According to the source, as many as 33,000 people are staying at the temporary accommodation centers
MOSCOW, May 30. /TASS/. The arrivals of refugees from the Donbass republics and Ukraine in Russia have topped 1.55 million, a law enforcement source said in an interview with TASS on Monday.
"According to the latest reports, over 1.55 million people have made it to Russia from Ukraine and the Donbass republics, including more than 254,000 children," the source said, adding that most people arrived from the Donetsk and the Lugansk People’s Republics.
As many as 33,000 people are staying at 568 temporary accommodation centers in 55 Russian regions, while the other refugees are housed privately or are staying with their relatives.
A total of more than 2.64 billion rubles ($40.1 million) has been paid to those among refugees who have applied for a one-off payment upon their arrival in Russia.
