VIENNA, May 22. /TASS/. The first monkeypox case has been confirmed in Austria, Austria Presse Agentur reported on Sunday.

The patient, a 35-year-olf man, has been isolated in a Vienna hospital.

The monkeypox virus, which was detected in several European countries in April-May, has reached other continents. Monkeypox cases have been confirmed in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
