Hainan's Sanya city is included in national healthcare evaluation system
The project is still in pilot mode
HAIKOU /China/, May 13. /TASS/. Sanya city on the southern coast of Hainan Island has been included in the list of Chinese localities that will provide a nationwide system to assess the impact of socio-economic factors on human health. This was reported by the Sanya Daily newspaper.
According to the newspaper, the project is still running in pilot mode. However, by 2023, the Sanya administration plans to establish a mechanism that will allow regular study of healthcare measures and determine the impact large infrastructure facilities are having on the health of the population. The analysis will be carried out by an interdepartmental group of experts.
As the local authorities specified, the main objective is to improve the effectiveness of socio-economic measures aimed at improving public welfare. It is expected that by 2025 the system will cover almost all spheres of economic activity.
In order to successfully implement the new mechanism to assess the level of healthcare, the city administration intends to strengthen the promotion of healthy lifestyles among citizens. The government plans to help ensure that factors affecting people's health are taken into account to the fullest in the implementation of any government projects.
Sanya is China's leading resort, home to more than 1 million people. In 2021, its gross product reached 83.5 billion yuan (about $13.2 billion), an increase of 12.1%. The average annual temperature in the city is 25.4 degrees Celsius, and the length of the coastline exceeds 200 kilometers.
