MOSCOW, April 27. /TASS/. Trevor Reed, an American convicted in Russia for assaulting police officers, will not have to serve the rest of his sentence in the United States under prisoner exchange terms, his lawyer Viktoria Buklova told TASS.
"Trevor has not been handed over to the US in accordance with a procedure established by the Russian Rules of Criminal Procedure, so he doesn’t have to serve out his sentence in the US," she said.
According to earlier reports, Reed was swapped for Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko.
Last summer, Reed was sentenced to nine years in a penal colony for violently assaulting police officers in Moscow.
