Turkmenistan's delegation invited to visit Tatarstan in May
Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdymukhamedov expressed readiness to continue cooperation with Tatarstan
TASS, April 24. During his meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov invited Turkmenistan's delegation to celebrate 1,100 years since the conversion to Islam of the Volga Bulgarians, which will be celebrated in May. This is reported by the press service of the President of Tatarstan.
"The President of the Republic of Tatarstan arrived on a one-day working visit to Turkmenistan. Rustam Minnikhanov met with Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov at the Ruhiyet Palace of Congresses. <... > Tatarstan President took the opportunity to invite Turkmenistan's delegation to participate in the events marking the 1,100th anniversary of the conversion to Islam of the Volga Bulgarians," the press service said.
In the course of the meeting, the leaders discussed the prospects for further expansion of cooperation, according to the press service. "Last year, the volume of our trade turnover amounted to $77.5 million. There is considerable potential to increase these figures, particularly, in oil exploration, oil production, gas transportation, automotive, aircraft and shipbuilding, the supply of chemical products," the press service quotes Minnikhanov.
Serdar Berdymukhamedov, in turn, stated his readiness to continue cooperation with Tatarstan as one of the economically and industrially developed regions of Russia.
Minnikhanov personally congratulated Berdymukhamedov on his victory in the elections again, the report noted. They also toured an exhibition dedicated to a national holiday - Turkmen Horse Day and Turkmen Alabai Dog Day.
According to the press service, Ashgabat is currently housing branches of PJSC Tatneft, PJSC KAMAZ, KER-holding and others.
