FSB nabs migrants recruiting for Hizb ut-Tahrir in Sverdlovsk Region

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. The members of Russia’s FSB apprehended five migrants spreading the ideology of the Hizb ut-Tahrir al Islami international terrorist organization (outlawed in Russia) and recruiting its new members in the Sverdlovsk Region, the FSB’s Public Relations Center told TASS.
"As a result of coordinated actions, Russia’s FSB members in the Sverdlovsk Region neutralized a clandestine cell of a terrorist organization consisting of five citizens of the countries of the Central Asian region," the center said. According to the FSB, on the orders of the foreign emissaries of the international terrorist organization, the migrants were spreading the terrorist ideology and recruiting new members among local Muslims and labor migrants.
Propaganda material and digital storage devices they used in their terrorist activities were discovered at their homes and confiscated. A criminal case was opened.
On February 14, 2003, the Russian Supreme Court declared the international religious group Hizb ut-Tahrir (Hizb ut-Tahrir al Islami, Party of Liberation) a terrorist organization. The extremist organization’s activities are outlawed in Russia.
