Kazakhstan lifts restrictions on crossing border with Russia since April 11
Those arriving from other countries should submit proof of a negative PCR test for the presence of COVID-19 or a recognized vaccination certificate
NUR-SULTAN, April 11. /TASS/. Kazakh authorities lifted the pandemic-related restrictions on crossing the land border with Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan beginning on April 11. This decision was made by an interagency commission on preventing the spread of the coronavirus infection due to the stabilized epidemic situation in the country. The restrictions are lifted for Kazakh citizens, foreigners and individuals without citizenship for crossing Kazakhstan’s state border with these three countries.
Additionally, all the restrictions are lifted for crossing Kazakhstan’s state border by air. Those arriving from other countries should submit proof of a negative PCR test for the presence of COVID-19 or a recognized vaccination certificate.
In March 2020, Kazakhstan introduced the restrictions on crossing the border due to the spread of the coronavirus infection. Air service with Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was resumed in September of 2020.
Since March 30, Russia has lifted the pandemic-related restrictions on crossing the land border with Kazakhstan. The restrictions were introduced at the end of March of 2020 due to the spread of the coronavirus infection.
Currently, the majority of the restrictive measures have been lifted in Kazakhstan amid the stabilization of the epidemic situation. In all, over 1.3 mln coronavirus infections have been confirmed in the republic since the beginning of the pandemic, about 1.29 mln patients have recovered, 13,600 died. The country’s population is more than 19.1 mln people.
