FSB detains Russian national suspected of cooperating with Ukraine’s security service
It is reported that the work is underway to figure out whether the detained person was involved in crimes under Articles 275 and 276 of the Russian Criminal Code
SIMFEROPOL, March 31. /TASS/. Law enforcement officers have detained a Russian national suspected of cooperating with Ukrainian intelligence agencies, the Crimean branch of the Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement on Thursday.
"The FSB branch in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has uncovered the illegal activities of a Russian citizen involved in cooperating with Ukrainian intelligence agencies. It has been established that the man, born in 1971, did military service in the Donetsk People’s Republic and has recently been residing in Crimea, maintaining regular ties with officers from the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU). He was detained by the FSB branch in March 2022 when trying to leave for Ukraine in order to arrange contacts that could harm Russia’s national security," the statement reads.
According to the FSB, work is underway to figure out whether the detained person was involved in crimes under Articles 275 and 276 of the Russian Criminal Code (treason and espionage).
