Novaya Gazeta daily suspends publications until end of special operation in Ukraine
According to earlier reports, Russia’s mass media watchdog issued a second written warning to the newspaper after it had mentioned in one of its online publications the name of an organization listed in Russia as a foreign agent NGO without highlighting this fact
MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Russia’s Novaya Gazeta daily said on Monday it suspends its activities until the end of the Russian special operation in Ukraine.
"We have received another warning from Roskomnadzor (Russia’s mass media and telecommunications watchdog - TASS). Following this, we have suspended publishing the newspaper both in printed and electronic form until the end of the special operation in Ukraine," it wrote on its Telegram channel.
According to earlier reports, Russia’s mass media watchdog issued a second written warning to the Novaya Gazeta after it had mentioned in one of its online publications the name of an organization listed in Russia as a foreign agent NGO without highlighting this fact. The first such warning was issued on March 22.
That being said, the newspaper’s chief editor Dmitry Muratov, won the Nobel Prize in 2021.
