Cyber-attacks on Russian information resources become more sophisticated — Rostelecom
The situation is difficult, but manageable, head of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky stressed
MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. Cyber-attacks on Russian information resources continue and become more and more diverse, head of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky said on Tuesday.
He was speaking at an expanded meeting of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications. The State Duma is the lower house of the Russian parliament.
"Unprecedented cyber-attacks continue, becoming more sophisticated. <…>. We see that attack vectors are constantly changing, new resources are being used, we are facing with new challenges," he said.
Oseevsky added that offers had been disclosed in the Tor browser to buy information from employees of large Russian companies for bitcoins.
The head of Rostelecom stressed that Russian subscribers and Internet users have nothing to fear. "The situation is difficult, but manageable. We understand the risks and how they can be offset," Oseevsky said.
