Russian public’s confidence in Putin soars past 80%, poll reveals
A survey conducted from March 7 to 13
MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. The Russian public’s confidence in President Vladimir Putin rose by 2.2% to 79.6% over the week, that’s according to the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) that published the results of a survey conducted from March 7 to 13 among 1,600 respondents aged over 18.
The survey center said, "79.6% of Russians said they trust Vladimir Putin, which is 2.2% more than the results of a poll from February 28 to March 6 . The level of approval of the Russian president's work was 77.2% (plus 2.6% over the previous survey)."
The level of positive assessment of the Prime Minister and the Russian government over the past week amounted to 50.7% (+2.7% over the week) and 52% (+2.3% over the week), respectively. As for the question of confidence in Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, 62% responded positively (+2.7% over the week).
Respondents also commented on the work of the heads of parliamentary factions. Thus, according to the survey, 39.5% of respondents favored the work of Vladimir Zhirinovsky (+ 5.1% over a week), Gennady Zyuganov got the approval of 28.5% of those surveyed (+ 2.7% over a week), Sergey Mironov was supported by 28.6% of the respondents (+0.3% over a week), and Alexey Nechaev took home an approval rating of 7.3% (+1.3% over a week).
The level of support for a number of political parties rose over the week. In particular, it concerns United Russia - 40% (+0.6% over a week), the CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) - 11.8% (+0.1% over a week), A Just Russia - For Truth - 6.3% (+1.1% over a week), The New People - 5.2% (+0.1% over a week). The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) lost 0.2% of the respondents’ support, which resulted in 7.2%.
