A criminal probe was launched into the drug-smuggling incident

MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. A black cat carrying drugs in its collar has been caught at a high-security penal colony in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, the local penitentiary department’s press service said on Friday.

"Security guards from penal colony number 19 have thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs through the use of a cat," the press service said.

The black cat possessing some 5 grams of hashish and 3 grams of metamfepramone hidden in its collar was spotted at the prison gate, the press service said, adding that a criminal probe was launched into the drug-smuggling incident.
