TASS, March 10. More than 213,000 people have evacuated to Russia from Donbass and Ukraine, more than 185,000 of them are residents of the DPR and LPR, whose evacuation began on February 18, power structures told TASS on Thursday.
"As of the morning of March 10, more than 213,000 people crossed the border of the Russian Federation, and more than 185,000 of them arrived in Russia from the DPR and LPR, whose authorities announced an evacuation on February 18. About 28,000 refugees came to Russia from Ukraine through checkpoints in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions and Crimea. Among the evacuees, there are not only citizens of Russia and Ukraine, but also those of other countries," the agency's interlocutor said.
According to him, Russia has received more than 18,500 DPR and LPR refugees, they are now in 278 temporary shelters in 30 regions across Russia, where they are provided with everything they need. Medical officials specified that almost 10,000 Donbass evacuees requested medical help, and almost 2,000 were diagnosed with coronavirus.
