YouTube should stop showing fakes about Ukrainian events — Russia's media watchdog
It is reported that YouTube is being used in a massive advertising campaign to misinform the Russian Internet audience
MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. Russia's media watchdog (the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media - Roskomnadzor) has demanded that YouTube's administration stop showing inaccurate material about Russia's special military operation in Ukraine in promotional messages on Russian territory, the agency's website reported on Thursday.
"Roskomnadzor demands that YouTube's administration immediately reconsiders the moderation terms of the advertising content, as well as stop showing it to Russian users. The Service considers it unacceptable to use YouTube in an information war against Russia, including the use of the platform's advertising capabilities," the website said.
According to the media watchdog, YouTube is being used in a massive advertising campaign to misinform the Russian Internet audience. In addition to inaccurate content, such ads usually have no age labeling, which violates both the rules of the video hosting itself and the current Russian legislation."
