Russian government approves plan on fighting Omicron
The draft of the plan was discussed at the expanded meeting of the coordination council on fighting the coronavirus on January 18
MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. The Russian government has approved a plan on additional measures against the Omicron coronavirus strain, the press service of the cabinet of ministers reported on Saturday.
"The government began to implement a plan on additional measures on fighting the spread of the new Omicron coronavirus strain in Russia and the preparation of the healthcare system for helping those infected with COVID-19," the statement said.
The draft of the plan was discussed at the expanded meeting of the coordination council on fighting the coronavirus on January 18. "The heads of regions on the instructions of the government’s chair Mikhail Mishustin should ensure the implementation of the plan and personally control this work," the cabinet of ministers stressed.
Another set of Mishustin’s instructions concerned medical aid to those infected with COVID-19. Thus, by January 24, the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (FFOMS) should submit the results of its analysis of the quality of this aid to regional health ministries for assessment and rapid response. The Fund should report to the government on this work weekly. "The regional health ministries are recommended to analyze the results of the evaluation of the quality of healthcare and accordingly conduct the necessary work with medical organizations," the statement said.
