Kremlin commends government’s measures taken to overcome pandemic

According to the Kremlin spokesman, the programs aimed at combating unemployment, supporting businesses, primarily small and mid-sized ones, are gradually beginning to pay off

MOSCOW, June 30. /TASS/. Some of the problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic are yet to be solved, but the positive effect of the measures taken by the Russian authorities is already obvious, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with Channel One Russia on Wednesday.

Peskov noted that falling incomes and job losses were among the issues that worried Russians. "There are such questions too, although when we were preparing a mixed format of a direct line and a news conference last year, the employment situation was more difficult in the winter," he noted.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, the programs aimed at combating unemployment, supporting businesses, primarily small and mid-sized ones, are gradually beginning to pay off.

"That does not mean that all troubles have been ironed out. There are problems, and many of them still need to be solved, but, still, the positive effect of those measures taken by the government and the country’s leadership is evident, and the general attitude is probably not a critical as in December," he stressed.
