SOCHI, February 22. /TASS/. Russia and Europe should unite their efforts in fighting the novel coronavirus, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on Monday.
"We have about ten infections per 100,000 of the population. In southern France, this figure is more than 70. This is a serious indicator. These are the objective data that suggest that we should unite efforts, including with European colleagues," Putin said.
Russia is seeking to do this and is open for joint work in this sphere, the Russian leader stressed.
The Russian and Belarusian leaders started their meeting in Sochi to discuss a broad range of issues related to the development of bilateral relations, the joint response to emerging challenges, including in the sphere of military security, and interaction in integration structures.
Both leaders will also exchange opinions on the international agenda.
