Asymptomatic cases may contract more severe forms of COVID-19 in six-twelve months
The expert said that new coronavirus strains might be detected in Russia in about two months
MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. Those who recovered from coronavirus with no symptoms at all may later contract more severe forms of COVID-19, Chief Physician at the Medicine Leader health center Yevgeny Timakov told the Moskva-24 TV channel on Wednesday.
"Those who had a mild asymptomatic form of the infection several months ago are now getting infected again, contracting a more severe form of the virus," he pointed out.
Timakov also said that new coronavirus strains might be detected in Russia in about two months. According to him, this is why it is too early to lift the mandatory mask regime. "There is a large group of people who are highly vulnerable to the coronavirus," he noted. "I believe that it would be dangerous to lift the mandatory mask regime" before the summer brings warm and sunny weather, the expert added.
