Moscow documents 1,409 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, record low since September 24

The day before, 1,818 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the capital city

MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. Moscow has documented 1,409 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, which is the lowest daily figure since September 24. The overall number of cases in the Russian capital reached 959,405, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Tuesday.

The daily growth rate has made 0.15%. The day before, 1,818 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Moscow.

In the past 24 hours, Moscow documented 60 deaths from the novel coronavirus, and the overall death toll reached 14,464.

In the past 24 hours, 2,062 patients have recovered, pushing the recoveries total to 873,898. Currently, there are 71,043 active COVID-19 cases in the Russian capital.

Moscow Region tally

The Moscow Region recorded 643 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the lowest number since November 7, according to data from the anti-coronavirus crisis center.

The region’s total case tally has reached 206,475. The number of recoveries rose by 864 to 168,010 in the past day, the death toll increased by 32 to 4,297. There are currently 34,168 active coronavirus cases in the Moscow Region.

As many as 1,082 coronavirus cases were confirmed in St. Petersburg in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 355,278. The number of recoveries rose by 2,931 to 272,134 and the death toll rose by 48 to 10,560. There are currently 72,584 active cases in St. Petersburg.
