Moscow registers 2,897 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

Over the past day, 62 people died in the capital, bringing the total death toll in the city to 13,237

MOSCOW, January 28. /TASS/. In the past 24 hours, 2,897 people contracted COVID-19 in Moscow, bringing the total case count to 922,559, the coronavirus prevention anti-crisis center told journalists Thursday.

The case increase rate is 0.3%, the statistics say. One day earlier, 1,837 new cases were registered.

In the past 24 hours, 62 people died in the capital, bringing the total death toll in the city to 13,237.

Meanwhile, 6,142 patients were released from hospitals, bringing the total recover count to 797,462. Currently, 111,860 people remain in hospitals.
