Over 40 people injured during mass unsanctioned rallies in Moscow
According to the source, 38 men and women aged 18 to 55 went to Moscow hospitals, along with five teenagers, the youngest of whom is 13 years old
MOSCOW, January 25. /TASS/. Over 40 people sought medical aid after the unsanctioned rally of Alexey Navalny supporters on January 23. A source in the law enforcement told TASS that inquiries were opened into all incidents.
"38 men and women aged 18 to 55 went to Moscow hospitals, along with five teenagers, the youngest of whom is 13 years old. They received different kinds of head trauma, bruises, stretching and bone damage. All of them have been discharged from hospitals," the source said.
Unsanctioned protests in support of detained Russian blogger Alexey Navalny were held in Moscow and other major Russian cities on January 23. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office and the police repeatedly warned of liability for attending an unsanctioned rally. According to the police, about 4,000 people attended the rallies in Moscow. Moscow’s Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Potyaeva stated on her website that over 1,000 people had been detained on Saturday.
