Russian penitentiary authority’s website comes under DDos-attacks, says source
Specialists are working on resuming its routine operation, the source said
MOSCOW, January 17. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Penitentiary Service’s official website came under massive DDos-attacks on Sunday, a source close to the Service told TASS.
"The website was subjects to continuous DDos-attacks for two hours. Specialists are working on resuming its routine operation," the source said, adding that it was not yet identified where the attacks originated from.
The press service of the Service’s Moscow department said earlier in the day that Russian opposition blogger Alexey Navalny had been detained on January 17 at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport upon arrival from Berlin. According to the press service, Navalny, who had been convicted to a suspended sentence, has been on a wanted list since December 29, 2020 for repeated violations of his probation term. A further measure of restrained will be determined by court. Until then, he will be kept in custody.
