Russia reports over 23,500 daily coronavirus cases
Some 23,440 people diagnosed with COVID-19 in Russia were discharged in the past day
MOSCOW, January 17. /TASS/. Russia’s COVID-19 cases rose by 23,586 in the past day to 3,568,209, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday.
The average growth rate did not exceed 0.7% in the past two days.
The lowest growth rates in the past day were recorded in the Tuva Republic, the Chukotka Autonomous Region (0.2%), the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region, the Jewish Autonomous Region (0.3%), the Magadan, Kemerovo, Tomsk Regions and the Republic of Ingushetia (0.4%).
Over the past day, another 3,316 COVID-19 cases were registered in St. Petersburg, 1,426 in the Moscow Region, 484 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 395 in the Sverdlovsk Region and 394 in the Rostov Region.
Currently, 542,212 people are undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in Russia.
Some 23,440 people diagnosed with COVID-19 in Russia were discharged in the past day and the total number of recoveries reached 2,960,431. According to the crisis center, the share of recoveries rose to 83% of all those infected.
Moscow confirmed 4,612 daily coronavirus recoveries. Over the past day, 3,072 patients recovered in St. Petersburg, 1,316 in the Moscow Region, 499 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 481 in the Voronezh Region and 400 in the Sverdlovsk Region.
Russia confirmed 481 deaths from the coronavirus versus 590 a day earlier, and the total death toll hit 65,566. The average mortality rate from the disease remained at 1.84%, according to the crisis center.
Over the past day, 59 fatalities were registered in St. Petersburg, 27 in the Moscow Region, 20 in the Voronezh and Krasnoyarsk Region, 19 in the Krasnodar Region and 16 in the Sverdlovsk Region.
