One in 10 hospitalized COVID-19 patients in serious condition

Meanwhile, 1,501,083 patients have recovered and 34,387 have died

MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. Currently, 221,000 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 have been hospitalized in Russia, 10% of them are in serious condition, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko stated on Wednesday.

"Right now, we have over 1.1 mln patients under supervision and undergoing treatment; 221,000 patients are hospitalized with a confirmed diagnosis "novel coronavirus infection," 17,000 patients are with community-acquired pneumonia. <…> Ten percent of those hospitalized are "serious," they need intensive observation," he said during a session between Russian President Vladimir Putin and government officials.

Since the start of the pandemic, over 55.6 mln people have been diagnosed with COVID-19, over 1.3 mln have died. Russia has documented 1,991,998 cases of infection. Meanwhile, 1,501,083 patients have recovered and 34,387 have died.
