Flight from Seoul to Khabarovsk delayed again

There are more than 170 people in Seoul, including residents of the Khabarovsk Region, Buryatia, Yakutia and Kamchatka

KHABAROVSK, April 8. / TASS /. The Aurora Airlines flight scheduled for Wednesday morning to bring back Far East residents stuck in South Korea due to the situation with coronavirus, has been postponed again, the Khabarovsk Region press service said in a statement.

The governor of the Khabarovsk Region Sergei Furgal asked the federal center to help bring back Far Eastern region residents, stuck in South Korea due to the closure of borders. There are more than 170 people in Seoul, including residents of the Khabarovsk Region, Buryatia, Yakutia and Kamchatka, both adults and children. International passenger flights are closed due to a pandemic.

Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Khabarovsk Region Valery Nemytov said on April 6 that Russian tourists would be taken out of Seoul on April 7, but the flight was postponed until Wednesday morning due to the fact that the Federal Air Transport Agency withdrew the earlier permission to fly.

"Previously, the flight was scheduled for nine in the morning. The plane did not fly out, the Federal Air Transport Agency has not written out a new flight permit," the spokesperson said.

He specified that the flight might take place in the afternoon.

According to the latest data, more than 1,300,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus worldwide and nearly 70,000 deaths have been reported. In Russia, a total of 7,497 coronavirus cases have been confirmed, with 494 patients having recovered from the virus. The country’s latest data indicates 58 fatalities nationwide. Earlier, the Russian government set up an Internet hotline to keep the public updated on the coronavirus situation.
