Vladimir Putin advised Russians not to hoard groceries, as the situation with supplies to stores is reliable
MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded to combat the unjustified overpricing of food items in the current economic situation.
"It is very important to continue the work [of the Prosecutor’s Office] together with the Federal Antimonopoly Service to counter offenses in the field of food prices," he said at a meeting of the Board of the General Prosecutor’s Office.
Later, at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin Putin advised Russians not to hoard groceries, as the situation with supplies to stores is reliable. During his visit to the coronavirus monitoring center, the president got acquainted with the system of monitoring availability of items and prices in regional stores across the country.
"Now people are buying a lot of groceries. In fact, there are no problems. We have a very stable supply situation," Mishustin said. "The main thing is that people should understand that the situation is reliable, so that they do not spend money on groceries that will have to be thrown away," the prime minister stressed.
