Hainan demonstrates potential during China's 70th anniversary celebrations

During the holidays in China, which will last until October 7, the Great New Hainan installation will be on display at the Beijing Olympic Park

HAIKOU, October 4. /TASS/. Hainan province's achievements in space exploration, innovation, international trade and other fields were presented during the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China celebrations on October 1 at Tiananmen Square in downtown Beijing.

According to www.hinews.cn, miniature copies of Hainan's Wenchang space center, the Boao conference hall, where the Asian Economic Forum is held annually, and the port for international cruise ships, were shown during the procession on the Great New Hainan platform. The platform also recreated the scenic landscape of the Phoenix island in Sanya, the province's rainforests, the projects for conducting deep-sea research and world beauty pageant. Hainan's participation in the celebrations was prepared by nine provincial departments, which adjusted the platform design more than 20 times.

The artists who were taking part in the procession have been getting ready for their performance for more than a month. “We managed to convey to Hainan's openness towards the outside world,” explained the artistic director of the project, Juan Tintin.

During the holidays in China, which will last until October 7, the Great New Hainan installation will be on display at the Beijing Olympic Park. In the future, according to the government, this platform which resembls a cruise liner, will become one of the new attractions of Haikou.
